This kit gives ordinary household objects the gallery labels they've always deserved: a title, a date, a medium, a straight-faced description and an accession number. Prop one next to the spoon, the junk drawer or the chair that holds all the clothes, and wait for a guest to notice.

It works as home decor, as a party bit, and as a gift for the friend whose house is basically a museum already.

What's included

• 25 written placards for objects like The Junk Drawer ("Curators believe the drawer is load-bearing"), the Single Sock (on indefinite loan from the dryer), and Leftovers, Container 3 of 7. Eight print on each page.
• An editable placard template: a page of eight placards you can type into, for your own objects and inside jokes.
• A "Permanent Collection" sign with gallery hours ("Whenever we're home") and a docent on duty: Reginald, who is judging.
• A start-here guide with printing and display tips.
